Summer Team And Short-Term Service

Summer Team is a short-term missions opportunity for anyone, single or married, who is at least seventeen years old and would like to come to Ireland and serve the Lord with us here! Retirees are welcome too!

Summer Team members come to Ireland as individuals or as groups any time during June, July, or August. Upon arrival, some time will be spent in orientation to familiarize you with the local culture and customs. During the summer, every weekday begins with a prayer meeting, and then the team is involved in practical and evangelistic work throughout the day. The evangelistic campaign will involve things like door-to-door visitation, open-air meetings, tract distributions, and weekly Gospel meetings. Team members will also share in domestic duties like cooking, laundry, dishes, and cleaning, and some some may help in office projects. Saturdays are usually free, and Sundays are set aside for church meetings and activities. The Lord has prepared every Christian with spiritual and practical gifts, and He simply wants us to be willing to be available for His use!

Who Can Participate?

You must be at least seventeen years old to apply for the Summer Team, but there is no upper age limit! Young singles will be housed in dorms, and older workers and married couples will be given private rooms, depending on availability.

What Is The Cost?

Ireland Outreach subsidises the cost of your participation in the Summer Team to make it affordable, but asks for a contribution from you as well. Please write for details of the current contribution that we ask from you.

The Apostle Paul Advises Us…

“According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

“Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

“Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.

“If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.”

1 Corinthians 3:10-14

  1. Hello!

I am currently a university student from America studying abroad in Europe. My area of study is Management and Leadership with a minor in Social Change. Ultimately I would like to have a career in ministry and pastoral leadership. This summer, after my classes are out, I am taking some time to explore Ireland and learn about various ministries in the country in the hopes that I might return next summer or after graduation.

I was very excited to come across your ministry and have a few questions for you…
-Would it be possible for me to stop by in June for a day (or two) to get a feel for the ministry and learn about what you do?
-What is the approximate cost of doing a summer of volunteerism through Ireland Outreach, and are food & housing included in this estimate?
-What does your evangelical work typically look like?

Thank you for your time in reading this, I will look forward to receiving a response!
